Hello

My name is Laura, I am 28 years old and the owner of The Balloon Lady. The reason I am where I am today, is because of wanting a better life for my little boy. I first started my venture in 2021, which was providing balloon decor to deliver to homes during lockdown. I was also on furlough from my job at the time and the boredom was eating me up inside!

From this, we went strength to strength. Unfortunately, in 2022 I was diagnosed with Lupus and Crohns disease, and in the midst of this I realised that I couldn't keep doing the job I was doing and running my little business. As the business at the time did not give me enough income, I decided to close down and focus on my 9-5 job.

In March 2023, I decided to give it another shot. I have always had dreams of working for myself and being my own boss, and to be honest, I love anything creative! In April 2023 I found out that I was pregnant with my little boy Lennon, and felt like it was now or never. I handed in my notice at my 9-5 job and gave it my best shot.

I haven't looked back! My business is going from strength to strength and I am proud to say that I am one of the only businesses that I know of that has built the whole business purely from profit, I have never had a business loan or brought any of my stock on a credit card!
